Showing Up

Successfully strutting their stuff in show rings to earn conformation Championships lately are the newly minted CKC show Champions Brynn, Trace and Jackson. Finishing an AKC show Championship in style with 4 and 5 point specialty show major wins is Carmen – impressively this gal is also the current WCA National Open Derby winner. Congrats to these…

Excellence in Versatility

The Trax crew have recently been busy and successful in every type of competition – the very handsome Cooper completed his CKC conformation Grand Championship, Andy earned a Masters level AKC agility title, Chili won a CKC all breed Obedience High in Trial, Feist won a 5 point major CKC Open Shooting Dog stake and Puck passed his AKC Tracking Dog test. Congratulations on such a variety of terrific work.

Eastern Stars

Only three Trax dogs competed at the WCA Eastern Classic regional field trial but each of these heavy hitters turned in a stellar performance to come away with a stake win to their credit. CJ won the Amateur Gun Dog stake and that win also finished her Amateur Field Championship title, Frances combined an ambitious run with staunch birdwork to win the Open Puppy stake, and Tilde simply tore the course up for a win in the Open Derby stake. Congratulations to these fine dogs, and to their breeders, owners, trainers and scouts too!

A League of Her Own

History was made this month when Annie became the first Weimaraner ever to earn an AKC Grand Field Championship title. Annie finished the requirements for that title in fine style too by going runner up out of a field of 77 competitors of all pointing breeds in the AKC National Gun Dog Championship held at the venerable Ames plantation in Tennessee. Annie’s placement there also marks the best performance by a Weimaraner ever at that event. Annie is no stranger to championships, she has also previously twice won the National Weimaraner Association National Championship and has also won both Weimaraner Club of America National and Amateur National Championships. Annie is trained and handled in Open events by trainer Diane Vater and in Amateur events by one of her owners, Frank Sommer. Congratulations to everyone on Team Annie!

Best Western

A contingent attended the WCA Western Classic Field Trial, mostly running in the Gun Dog stakes. The team showed great depth by sweeping the Amateur Gun Dog stake placements and taking 3 of the 4 Open Gun Dog placements including wins in both stakes. Winning performances were clocked by Feist who won the 23 dog Open Gun Dog stake with great application and great style on multiple finds and Annie who won the 17 dog Amateur Gun Dog stake to complete her Amateur Field Championship. Thanks a million to everyone involved in their success.

Snuffleupaguses

Weimaraners love tracking and the Trax crew no exception. Earning new AKC Tracking Dog titles recently are, from left to right, Trace, Brynn and Reese. Congrats to these three gals that are all business on the snuffle and made short work of their tests drawing compliments from judges and spectators alike.
