All TRAX dogs undergo an extensive Puppy Evaluation process, it takes about three days to complete and it encompasses detailed assessment of field ability, temperament and conformation traits. The test results are used to match puppies to their homes and to identify potential candidates for the TRAX breeding program.

When the TRAX breeding program candidate are approximately 2 years old they undergo an even more comprehensive temperament, working ability, conformation and field ability evaluation to confirm suitability for breeding and to use as a basis for selection of suitable mates as well as to chart long term progress in the overall TRAX breeding program. In addition to these traits, the dogs height, weight, competition record, health history and results of health clearance tests are also key determinants in planning breedings.

With so many factors to keep in mind and for ease of record keeping I organize all of the evaluation elements onto a single spreadsheet. The page also includes a summary of evaluation results per category and overall that yields valuable feedback on my breeding progam progress and trends.
