While many Trax dogs earn their keep as sport competitors, hunting dogs or companions, many other Trax puppies have been placed in homes to be trained to provide service and support to their owners or to their community in either Search and Rescue, Therapy or Service Work. In the SAR domain some Traxters work in tracking and searching for lost people and others in cadaver detection. In the Therapy and Service domains they serve in many specialties, including PTSD support, gluten detection, blood sugar detection and performing retrieving and other tasks for owners with spinal cord injuries or other physical disabilities. This month we salute all of the Trax puppies that go on to become everyday heroes.
